Singapore Skateboarding Championship for Street – Men’s Qualification

It was truly an awesome day of skateboarding and camaraderie as 25 of Singapore’s finest lit up the much-awaited Singapore Skateboarding National Championships!

From 8 years old to 38, competitors from today’s Men’s Qualifiers definitely had a blast since it was also their first time to ride the freshly revamped Somerset Skatepark.

Spearheaded by Singapore’s National Youth Council, Millennial Events and skateboarding legend Kenny Reed, the skateboarding scene in Singapore couldn’t be more stoked with this upgrade!

When the dust settled after 2 runs each from Men’s Qualifiers, it was 19 year-old Janiel who took the top spot with a 73.33 average followed by Khairulnizam with a 70.33, Johan with a 68.33, Kenny at 65.66, Hanifie at 62, Firdaus at 59.66, Rezza with a 56.33, Hafizan at 49 and Rizuwan at 48. Singaporean wildcard Juvi will also be joining these 9 skaters for tomorrow’s finals.

Smiles and stoke easily changed the hustle and bustle vibe at Singapore’s commercial business district this afternoon and the best part is, we’ll be doing it all over again tomorrow!

We’ll be kicking things off at 5:10 PM with the Women’s Finals followed by the Men’s Finals so if you couldn’t make it to Somerset, we’ve got your back with LIVE coverage at the Asian Skateboarding Championship Facebook page!
